Curriculum vitae

Pierre Thomas started as a junior researcher at the Institute of Public Health Genomics. He completed his bachelor’s degree in European Public Health at Maastricht University in 2013. He went on to be part of the Health Sciences Research master and specialized in clinical epidemiology with a focus on sexually transmitted diseases and genetic epidemiology and a particular interest for low and middle income countries. He obtained his master’s diploma from Maastricht University in 2016 where he works and teaches. He is part of the collaboration between Maastricht University and The Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) in Allahabad, India, where he has been involved in research and teaching activities. He obtained his PhD in December of 2018, with a thesis entitled 'ChlamIndia: Burden of Chlamydia trachomatis in India, implications for policy and practice'. Pierre Thomas was part of other cooperation projects in India in the past, namely with the Insitute of Public Health in Bangalore and the Public Health Foundation of India in Hyderabad.
