Curriculum vitae

Yilin Liu is a PhD student in the department of Molecular Genetics. She is working on her thesis 'Trafficking lipids away from the heart: novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy' under supervision of prof. Jan Glatz, Dietbert Neumann, PhD and Joost Luiken PhD. She got her bachelor degree in Pharmacy at Jilin Agricultural University in 2009 and master degree in Pharmacology at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2012 (China).

She started her PhD in October 2012. Her main field of interest is the molecular genetic trafficking mechanism of fatty acid transporter in diabetic cardiomyopathy. She tries to identity the proteins involved in impaired CD36 traffciking, the main fatty acid transporter, during obesity and type II diabetes and select therapeutic targets for inhibition of lipid induced cardiomyopathy.
