Curriculum vitae

Jolande Land studied medicine in Maastricht. In 1985 she defended her PhD thesis on 'Early embryonic development in the Fallopian tube – a microsurgical study in the rabbit'. In 1990 she registered as a gynaecologist. From 1990-2006 she was a staff member in the division of Reproductive Medicine in the Maastricht University Medical Center. Her research in Maastricht focussed on chlamydia, infertility and tubal pathology.

From 2006-2017 she was a full professor in Reproductive Medicine and head of the division of Reproductive Medicine in the University Medical Center in Groningen. In Groningen she was involved in research projects on obesity, lifestyle and infertility.

In October 2017 she returned to Maastricht University as an associate professor and senior-researcher in the department of Public Health Genomics in the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. She participates in national and international projects on chlamydia research in close collaboration with the department of Immunogenetics in the VU Medical Center in Amsterdam and the National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM).

She has been associate editor of leading journals in the field of reproductive medicine (Human Reproduction and Human Reproduction Update), member the MTA-task force of the National Health Counsil (Gezondheidsraad), and is currently a member of the National Committee on Human Research of the Dutch Ministry of Health (CCMO).
