Sylvia Jochems, MSc (1983) completed her BSc in Biomedical and Biochemical Sciences at Zuyd University of applied sciences in 2008. After that, she worked several years as a research technician at Maastricht University and as a data manager at the radiotherapy institute Maastro Clinic. She received her Health Sciences Research master’s degree at Maastricht University in 2014. In October 2014, Sylvia started as a PhD student within a joint PhD project between Maastricht University (The Netherlands) and the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom). She investigates the role of diet in bladder cancer prognosis within the Bladder Cancer Prognosis Programme (BCPP) under supervision of prof. Maurice Zeegers and prof. K.K. Cheng.
Currently, Sylvia is based at the University of Birmingham.
