On October 20th, 2017 prof. Maurice Zeegers (Complex Genetics/NUTRIM/CAPHRI) will explain in plenary sessions the basic principles of Evidence Based Medicine. He will provide guidelines on how to quality assess randomized clinical trials, observational studies and systematic reviews. Also, an introduction will be given on how to perform and systematic review or meta-analysis yourself. The course consists of plenary lectures and group exercises.
This course is tailor made for PhD candidates who are interested in learning more about how to quality assess different types of research studies and how to perform a systematic review.
Knowledge of epidemiologic study designs and statistical analyses is a prerequisite. The course is restricted to maximum 20 participants to stimulate cross-fertilization and allow supervision in small working groups.
